Lauren and Carter are two of the greatest humans we know. They are kind, smart and head over heels in love with one another. The opportunity to help them with their wedding was a dream for us.
From the intimate size to the meaningful venue to the special guest that joined them at the altar, every detail reflected their love story.
Carter and Lauren met while attending the same CrossFit gym. As Carter said in his vows, “I saw the most beautiful girl and I had to meet her.” Shortly after they met, they began dating and the rest is history.
After getting engaged and welcoming their son Jack into the world, Lauren and Carter knew they wanted an intimate wedding at the exact spot where they met – 2020FIT in Prairie Village, Kansas. Following the ceremony, they wanted to celebrate at their favorite restaurant in Kansas City, Farina.
From there, we worked together to create an evening that was laid back, fun and as special as they are as a couple.
Rather than bringing in rentals, Lauren and Carter wanted to lean into the venue, so we incorporated the existing equipment into the ceremony. Plyo boxes served a seating for guests and the aisle was marked with ropes. The altar was centered on a pull up rig and adored with white and green floral designed by Thorne Floral on top of plyo boxes.
Lauren walked down the aisle while Carter held their son Jack at the altar. Jack stayed with his parents while they recited their vows to one another. He even gave his dad a little spit up on the lapel of his suit before the vows were over. It made for a lighthearted and memorable moment for all, including Carter’s drycleaner.
The place cards were all the couple’s favorite photos of Lauren, Carter, and Jack. Guests enjoyed looking at the photos and were greeted with a thank you note from the couple as they were seated.
